A high-speed collision at Avira Crossing in Salt Lake Sector V on Wednesday morning led to a four-vehicle pile-up, causing significant damage and minor injuries. A four-wheeler, traveling from Salt Lake City to New Town, lost control and hit another vehicle, triggering a chain reaction. The impact damaged all four cars, and multiple passengers sustained minor injuries.
They were immediately taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Navadiganta Traffic Guard officers reached the scene and managed traffic while initiating a preliminary investigation. Bidhannagar Electronics City Police arrived soon after and seized the damaged vehicles for further examination. Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage to determine the sequence of events and identify any traffic violations.
According to initial reports, overspeeding is suspected to be a major factor in the crash. No fatalities have been reported. Police officials have urged motorists to adhere to speed limits and follow traffic regulations to prevent such incidents. Further investigations are underway.
